Mercure Miyagi Zao Resort & Spa, a highland resort hotel overlooking the magnificent Mount Zao, and Mercure Urabandai Resort & Spa, a forest resort where you can relax with the magnificent nature of Mount Bandai. The area where both hotels are located is beautiful in the four seasons, and you can enjoy a variety of nature experiences such as autumn leaves, snow scenery, hot springs, hiking, etc.

At both hotels, for a limited time from October 1, 2024 (Tuesday), "Imoni", which is well known as Yamagata's local cuisine, will be tailored to the local ingredients of each hotel, Miyagi and Fukushima, as well as the local ingredients of each hotel, and will be served as a buffet menu for restaurants.

Yamagata imoni is based on soy sauce, but miso is used in Miyagi, and Fukushima has a wide variety of variations in miso, soy sauce, miso and soy sauce depending on the prefecture area. For this reason, Miyagi Zao arranged Sendai miso for dinner, and Urabandai arranged with Kitakata ramen soup. In addition, the salt koji-style sweet potato boiled offered at breakfast was newly developed as the original menu of both hotels.

Contents of the project

Sendai Imoni (Miyagi Zao, Dinner Limited)

The brand pork "JAPAN X" raised in the rich natural environment at the foot of Zao, and the Chigiri konjac of "Marumiya", which manufactures and sells konjac in Zao, radishes, carrots, and taro mainly from Miyagi Prefecture. Vegetables such as were added and seasoned with Sendai miso. The richness of red miso, a characteristic of Sendai miso, is combined with the umami of JAPAN X and vegetables, and it is a taste that feels gentle sweetness.

Salted koji potato boiled (Miyagi Zao, breakfast only)

The juicy and umami-rich forest from Miyagi Prefecture is combined with Marumiya's Shirataki, Sendai Seri, and Sendai Magari Negishi, and stewed with salt koji made in Kami-cho, Miyagi Prefecture. If you like, add a combined cream cheese that mixes Sendai miso with local specialty "Zao Cheese" to increase the richness and enjoy the rich taste.

Fukushima Imoni (Urabandai dinner only)

We used plenty of mushrooms such as Maitake, Enoki, and Nameko, and seasoned with Aizu miso and Kitakata soy sauce ramen soup. If you like, add chopped ginger soaked in soy sauce, you can enjoy the change in taste.

Salted koji potato boiled (Urabandai, breakfast only)

We mainly use Tsurumurasaki, which is thriving in Fukushima Prefecture, and "Hayamakogenton", which is limitedly produced by farmers designated in the prefecture, and add amazake to salt koji-based soup stock and stew. It is characterized by its sweetness and gentle taste.
※The use of Tsurumurasaki is until early November, after which the ingredients change.

■Mercure Miyagi Zao Resort & Spa
It is a resort hotel on the plateau overlooking the magnificent Mount Zao, about an hour drive from Sendai Station. You can fully enjoy seasonal activities that touch nature, such as trekking and skiing. The hotel offers local cuisine and a healing time where you can feel the four seasons of Zao at the famous hot spring "Togatta Onsen".

 

■Mercure Urabandai Resort & Spa
An 8-minute walk to Goshiki-numa, which shines in emerald green. It is a forest resort hotel surrounded by more than 300 lakes and marshes reflecting the four seasons of the forest against the backdrop of Mount Aizu Bandai, which is said to be a treasure mountain. You can experience the great nature of Urabandai by strolling, cycling, and climbing, explore the history of Aizu such as Tsuruga Castle of the White Tiger Corps, enjoy powder snow in winter, and fully enjoy a variety of activities.
