Toogattaonsen is the birthplace of Kokeshi, a traditional craft of the Tohoku region.
At the permanent exhibition corner of the Miyagi Zao Kokeshi Museum, 5,500 traditional kokeshi and wooden toys from all over the country, including the Togatta traditional kokeshi, are displayed by system. You can also experience kokeshi painting (reservation required).
